"A Russian military, state and political figure.
Member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the 6th and 7th convocations (2014-2021); member of the Riazan Regional Duma of the 4th and 5th convocations (2005-2014).
In 2000, he graduated from the Riazan Institute of Airborne Forces named after Army General V. F. Margelov, where he continued his service as a cadet platoon commander. In April – October 2002, he was on a business trip to Chechnya as the commander of a parachute landing platoon. Has the rank of lieutenant colonel.
In 1999, he joined the LDPR, and in 2000 he was appointed coordinator of the Ryazan regional branch of the party. In 2003, he became an assistant to a member of the State Duma. In 2004, he graduated from the Academy of Law and Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, majoring in jurisprudence.
On March 20, 2005, he was elected a member of the Riazan Regional Duma of the 4th convocation on the list of the LDPR in a single electoral district. He was a member of the standing committee on industrial policy and economic security, on social policy.
On December 2, 2007, he ran for the State Duma of the 5th convocation on the LDPR list as the second number in regional group No. 13 from the Vladimir and Riazan regions, but did not pass after the distribution of mandates among members.
On March 14, 2010, he was re-elected as a member of the Riazan Regional Duma of the 5th convocation on the LDPR list as the second number in the general part of the list. He was the leader of the LDPR party group in the Regional Duma, a member of the committees on economic policy, industry and entrepreneurship, and on social and demographic policy.
On December 4, 2011, he again ran for the State Duma of the 6th convocation on the LDPR list as the first number in regional group No. 63 from the Riazan region, but after the distribution of mandates among members, he did not pass.
On October 14, 2012, he took part in the elections of the governor of the Riazan region, gaining 9.01% of the vote and taking third place after the acting governor.
On October 15, 2014, when Aleksandr Balberov had ransferred to the Tula Regional Duma, he received the vacant mandate of the member of the State Duma of the 6th convocation, and on October 29, he stepped down from the member mandate of the Riazan Regional Duma. As a member of the LDPR group, he was a member of the counting commission, first deputy chairman of the committee on physical culture, sports and youth affairs.
On September 13, 2015, he was re-elected to the Riazan Regional Duma of the 6th convocation from the LDPR, but refused the mandate.
On September 18, 2016, he was elected as a member of the State Duma of the 7th convocation on the LDPR list as the first number in regional group No. 106 from the Riazan and Tambov regions. On October 5 of this year, at the first plenary session of the State Duma of the 7th convocation, he was appointed the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense. He was also a member of the commission for consideration of federal budget expenditures invested in the provision of national defense, national security, and law enforcement actions.
On September 10, 2017, he took part in the elections of the governor of the Riazan Region.
In the elections to the State Duma in 2021, he ran in single-mandate electoral district No. 157 (Riazan Region). However, he was not elected.

In May 2022, he put forward his candidacy for the position of the head of the LDPR, but did not receive the support of his party comrades. 86 out of 87 delegates of the party congress voted against his nomination. After that, he was expelled from the party.
